It’s not secret that my life is closely tied to that of Larry Laffer. Little did I know, even back in like 1987 or so, how close it would be. I had sent in the below picture, in my best attempt to look like Leisure Suit Larry (leisure suits were virtually impossible to find in 1987 or so, because they had already ceased being a fad! Imagine that!)



… When I got back a letter from Sierra, asking if they could use my photo for a Leisure Suit Larry contest. Naturally I agreed – and a little while later, I appeared in InterAction Magazine, far more Larry-ified than I had sent in originally!

Quite old, but recently brought up that Leisure Suit Larry makes an appearance in HOMESTAR RUNNER “Strongbad”… But not Larry, himself! But rather two beautiful women from the original EGA version of Leisure Suit Larry!

Ever wonder how Larry Evolved?

Some would say a guy like Larry never evolved! But he really did!

Check out the Evolution of Larry Laffer!



First, Larry Laffer appeared in Leisure Suit Larry I: In The Land of the Lounge Lizards in July 1987.

Second, Larry Laffer appeared in Leisure Suit Larry II: Goes Looking For Love (In Several Wong Places) in October 1988.

Next, Larry Laffer appeared in Leisure Suit Larry III: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals in November 1989.

Larry Laffer would next appear in a VGA Remake of Leisure Suit Larry I: In The Land of the Lounge Lizards in July 1991.

When the series continues, there is no Leisure Suit Larry IV, so Larry Laffer’s next appearance is in Leisure Suit Larry V: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work in September 1991.

The next one does away with Passionate Patti, and goes back to a Leisure Suit Larry 1 feel with Leisure Suit Larry VI: Shape Up or Slip Out! in 1993.

A CD version of Leisure Suit Larry VI: Shape Up or Slip Out! was released in 1993, which saw slightly improved graphics from the disk version.

Larry Laffer appears, for the last time, in Leisure Suit Larry VII: Love For Sail! in 1996.
